The name "Truuli Alaska" isn't a typo - it's truly intentional. Truuli Peak is the highest mountain summit in the Kenai Mountains located within the 1.92-million-acre Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The peak itself is located southwest of the Harding Icefield somewhere tall & majestic between the Chernof and Truuli glaciers. Our backyard is an endless oasis of mountains, rivers, lakes, fishing, hiking, and as much adventure as your heart can handle. Mix in some good restaurants and neighborhood local spots, and your trip to the Kenai Peninsula is set!
According to research, Truuli Peak was first summited in 1968 by a gentleman named Vinn Hoeman. This story coincides with one of the first ever crossings of the Harding Icefield, most closely accessed by the town of Seward, Alaska (just 90 minutes from the cabin). "The name 'Truuli' was given by Hoeman and comes from the Indian name for the Kenai Mountains."
This off-grid cabin rental and rv parking space (with room for up to a 40-foot RV or travel trailer to park) offers a rustic yet modern take on the phrase "glamping" - AKA glamourous camping. The cabin is quite small, 15 x 18 with an additional fully covered deck. Inside you'll find a humble space which is perfect for a "glamping experience" much cozier than a tent but nothing too fancy. No running water. There is no electricity but an Honda invertor generator provides that access to the cabin so that you can watch tv, movies, use lights, and power up all your devices. Your heat, fridge, and oven is all powered by propane.
For "doing the do" you'll find an outhouse which is serviced once a week, and no indoor toilet. Two beds; queen in the loft, click/clack full size fold out downstairs. The cabin sleeps only 2 people and dogs are allowed on request.
